All that you need to know about Valorant tournament
Format:
- We will follow a knockout format with online prelims, and the qualifying final teams will compete against each other in offline mode at IIT Delhi.
- The map for prelims will be decided by the organizing team.
- The final 2 teams will play 3 matches and the team with the highest cumulative score will win.
- The matchmaking would be done randomly and the brackets would be decided before the start of the competetion.
- If both teams in a match are disqualified, the team set to compete against the winner of this match will advance to the next round.
Eligibility:
- Players must be a minimum of 16 years old at the time of competition.
- Players must have a Valorant account eligible for competitive games in order to compete. This account must be used for all matches during the competition.
- Players are allowed to compete with only one team during the competition.
- Teams are allowed to have players of any rank, but it is advisable to have a uniform ranked team.
- The riot accounts to be used in the competition must be made public for thorough scrutiny. If any account is found to be smurf, it would lead to disqualification of the team.
- If a player is banned for in-game behavior or Terms of Service violations, they can't continue in the competition. This applies to all their accounts. Judges may review bans on a case-by-case basis.
Team Management & Roster Rules:
- Teams will be required to have atleast 5 eligible players on their rosters at all times and 1 dedicated team manager.
- Each team must designate a team manager, who doesn't need to be on the Active Roster. The manager will be the main contact for the organizing team and must be present in official communication channels. Any change in manager should be promptly reported to the officials.
- The mananger will be the primary person of contact for the organizing team.

Judges and event officials have the authority to overrule or replace student team managers if they display negligence, malice, or any other valid reason.
- User Names and Team Names may not contain vulgarities or obscenities; valorant agent derivatives or other similar character names; or derivatives of products or services that may create confusion
Match Process:
- Directed Pause: Rendezvous officials may order the pause of a match or execute a pause command at any time for any reason, at their sole discretion.
- Awarded Game Victory: In the event of a technical difficulty that would lead to a partial or full restart, but there are significant constraints that make it impossible to restart the game at the sole discretion of Rendezvous officials, officials may instead award a game victory to a team.
- Results of forfeiture: Matches won by forfeit will be reported by the minimum score it would take for one team to win the match. No other statistics will be recorded for forfeited matches.
Code of Conduct:
- Conduct violations of any kind may be reported to any organizing team member by Discord or email.
- A Team Member may not use language that is obscene, foul, vulgar, insulting, threatening, abusive, libelous, slanderous, defamatory, or otherwise offensive or objectionable; or promote or incite hatred or discriminatory conduct, in or near the match area, at any time.
- A Team Member may not take any action or perform any gesture directed at an opposing Team Member, fan, or official, or incite any other individual(s) to do the same, which is insulting, mocking, disruptive, or antagonistic.
- Abuse of organizing team officials, opposing Team Members, or audience members will not be tolerated.
- A team member shall not engage in any activity that is prohibited by common law, statute, or treaty and which leads to or may be reasonably deemed likely to lead to conviction in any court of competent jurisdiction.
- No team member may offer, agree, conspire, or attempt to influence the outcome of a game or match by any means that are prohibited by law or these rules.
- Any person found to have engaged in or attempted to engage in any unfair play will be subject to penalty.
General Rules:
- BRCA, IIT Delhi reserves the right to disqualify any team promoting obscenity through their act.
- BRCA, IIT Delhi reserves the right to cancel the prelims stage in case of unforeseen circumstances.
- BRCA, IIT Delhi reserves the right to change the prize money before the commencement of the prelims.
- In the case of any dispute, the decision of the organisers will be final and binding.
- The organizers are not responsible for non-completion / non-occurrence of the event.
- The organizers have all the right to cancel, reschedule postpone, and amend the show. In the event of any dispute, the organizers decisions are final and binding on the applicant.
- Deadlines are determined by the number of entries. The decisions of the Jury/Judges are final.
Terms and Conditions:
The promoter and organizer of the competition are Rendezvous 2023 and IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi and all entries become the property of the organizer once submitted. The judge's decision will be final and binding to all. IIT Delhi reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entry at any time during the event if it is found that the entrant has not complied with the rules mentioned or has acted in a disruptive manner.
