Cummins is hiring for the role of Supply Chain Planner!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Plan and coordinate international supply chain activities to meet customer demand and ensure smooth operations
- Analyze demand variations and adjust supply chain strategies accordingly
- Manage internal and external stakeholders involved in the supply chain process
- Develop and implement planning system strategies to improve signals across the international supply chain
- Utilize ERP systems and advanced Excel techniques to optimize supply chain operations
- Monitor and interpret Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans
- Execute daily operational planning processes within specified functional areas
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain failures to minimize risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in international supply chain planning
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage multiple stakeholders both internally and externally
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility: Ability to work with global plants and suppliers, requiring flexible working hours
- Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. College, university, or equivalent degree required
- Licensing: This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
- Experience in international supply chain management for at least 3 years
- Proven track record of managing stakeholders in the EU region

About Cummins India
Cummins’ story in India started when Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (KOEL) and Erstwhile Cummins Engine Company Inc. (CECO), U.S.A installed a joint venture with 50% holding by CECO, 25.50% by KOEL and 24.50% floated on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Eventually, in 1997, Cummins Inc. increased its stake in Kirloskar Cummins to 51%, and Kirloskar Oil Engines largely divested its stake, thereby incorporating Cummins India Ltd. with the other 49% stake drifted on the BSE.
Cummins India has a network of 22 dealerships, 120 dealership branch offices, and 3 Generator Original Equipment Manufacturers (GOEMs), to cater its products and services to the customers.

Mergers & Acquisitions
- Hydrogenics: Cummins Inc., on 28th June 2019 announced the acquisition of a fuel cell systems provider, Hydrogenics Corporation through a wholly-owned subsidiary for US$15.00 per share in cash representing an enterprise value of approximately $290 million.
- Efficient Drivetrains, Inc.: on 2nd July 2018, Cummins Inc., announced the acquisition of Silicon Valley-based designer and producer of hybrid and fully- electric power solutions, Efficient Drivetrains, Inc. (EDI) as a step to accelerate its electrification capabilities.
- Brammo: the battery pack/electric drivetrain manufacturer Brammo was acquired by Cummins Inc., in October 2017 to help bring its electric truck to market.
- Hilite International: in July 2012, Cummins inc. announced the acquisition of the emission control assets of Marktheidenfeld, Germany based, Hilite International, making them a part of Cummins Emission Solution (CES).
- Nelson Industries: a major, privately held supplier of air exhaust and emissions control systems, industrial silencers, and liquid filtration products, and electronic sound and vibration control technology, Nelson Industries Inc. was acquired by Cummins Inc in the year 1997 for consideration of $450 million.
Key People
- Tom Linebarger: the current Chairman and CEO of Cummins Inc., Tom Linebarger earned joint undergraduate degrees in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and in management engineering from Claremont McKenna College in the year 1986. He also earned an MS in manufacturing systems from the School of Engineering of Stanford University and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business in 1993.1
- Rich Freeland: the current President and COO of Cummins Inc., Rich Freeland oversees the company’s daily operations. He attended the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University and graduated as a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management and Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in 1987 for his MBA.
- Mark Smith: the current Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Cummins Inc., Mark Smith, joined Cummins in the year 1995. A Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Kent, Mark Smith is also an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
- Sandeep Sinha: the Managing Director at Cummins India Ltd., Sandeep Sinha attended the Manipal Academy of Higher Education to complete his engineering and Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business for his MBA. He joined Cummins Inc., in the year 2004.
