TAPMI Quiz on The Beach (QoTB®): Stages and Timelines
Online Quiz round
In this round, the teams will go through an online MCQ-based quiz on questions related to general knowledge. There will be a total of 25 questions with a time limit of 20 minutes. This round will be held on Unstop. You will see the “Play” button here, once the round is live. The top 8 teams from each cluster will qualify for the City qualifier round.
City Qualifiers
City Qualifier round will be conducted at the following clusters of: Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Online. Dates for the city qualifiers will be between 10th Jan-17th Jan. Specific dates of each qualifier will be mentioned to the selected candidates.
Grand Finale
The Grand Finale will be conducted against the backdrop of the breathtaking Malpe beach in Manipal, by the renowned Quizmaster, Pickbrain, Giri Balasubramaniam The total cash prizes in the Final round of the event will be worth Rs. 2,30,000
All that you need to know about TAPMI Quiz on The Beach (QoTB®)
Overview:
- QoTB® is TAPMI’s flagship event and India’s biggest on-campus business quiz competition.
- Participants compete to become the coveted QoTB® champions.
- Qualifiers will be conducted across four Indian cities: Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, along with online rounds for wider participation.
- Travel and stay for the final round at Malpe Beach, Manipal will be fully sponsored for finalists.
- Only domestic travel will be covered for the finale.
- Top prizes worth several lakhs across all events.
- Top 8 teams from each city qualify for the next stage; winners secure a spot in the Grand Finale.
- Additional “golden second chance” for the top two non-winning teams across all qualifiers.
Team Guidelines:
- Each team consists of 2 members.
- A person can only be part of one team; multiple participations lead to disqualification.
- No changes in team members are allowed after registration.
- Cross-institute teams are allowed.
- Eligible participants: Undergraduate students, Postgraduate students, and Corporate participants.
Quiz Format & Rules:
- Round 1 – Online Elimination:
- 25 questions in total, 20 minutes to attempt.
- Only the team leader can take the quiz.
- Conducted online via Unstop.
- Qualifying teams advance to the offline rounds.
- Round 2 – Online & City Cluster Qualifiers:
- Cluster cities: Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, plus online.
- Online qualifier: 16 teams divided into 2 sets of 8; one team from each set goes to the final.
- Increased competition; preference for zonal city qualifiers advised.
- Final Round – Offline:
- Held at Malpe Beach, Manipal, Karnataka.
- Travel and stay sponsored by organizers.
- Scoring based on accuracy and time.
- Organizers reserve the right to disqualify teams involved in malpractice.

- Participants must adhere to eligibility, team composition, and quiz rules strictly.
- Organizers’ decisions regarding eligibility, scoring, and disqualification are final.
