All that you need to know about GSK Scholars Programme
GSK Scholars Programme is a CSR initiative of GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd. focused on providing financial assistance to meritorious and financially constrained students enabling them to pursue a career in Medicine. This program aims to support the skill-building initiative of the country and advance Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in India.
Eligibility:
- Students must be pursuing the first year of the MBBS program in government colleges
- Applicants must have obtained at least 65% marks in Class 12 board examinations
- The annual family income of the applicants should be below INR 6,00,000 from all sources
- Children of employees of GSK, GiveIndia, and Buddy4Study are not eligible
Documents Required:
- Marksheet of Class 12
- A government-issued identity proof (Aadhaar card/voter identity card/driving license/PAN card)
- Current year admission proof (fee receipt/admission letter/institution identity card/bonafide certificate)
- Family income proof (salary slip, Form 16, Income Certificate, ITR)
- Bank account details of the applicant
- Photograph of the applicant
Benefits:
- Up to INR 1,00,000 per year for students pursuing MBBS, with a total of up to INR 4.5 lakh over four and a half years.
Note: Scholarship funds can be utilised only for academic expenses which include tuition fees, exam fees, books, hostel fees, food, and seminars. If funds still remain, they will be used for stationery, online learning, and payment of internet/data pack bills.

GSK also offers a range of vaccines, for the prevention of hepatitis A, hepatitis B, invasive disease caused by H, influenza, chickenpox, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, rotavirus, cervical cancer, streptococcus pneumonia and others.

- Partnering with India to eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) with a strategy consisting of two components - to stop the spread of infection (interrupting transmission) and to alleviate the suffering of affected populations (controlling morbidity).
- Child Nutrition - GSK has built partnerships to implement an integrated approach to tackle child nutrition in Mumbai, Maharashtra in partnership with SNEHA to improve the nutritional status of married women at pre and post-conception and after delivery and of children aged 0-6 years in vulnerable communities in Mankhurd area of M/E ward, Mumbai. The project addresses healthcare from two sides - on the demand side, by attempting to create informed users of health services who will expect higher quality; and on the supply side, by working with public sector health providers (MCGM and ICDS) to improve the quality of health services.
- School Sanitation - School is important for the cognitive, creative and social development of children. GSK has worked relentlessly to provide sanitation units, complete water and waste disposal systems, thereby providing access to clean sanitation to 10,000 students, teachers and staff from five schools in Nashik. They have expanded their work to additional schools and continue incorporating both the hardware and the behavioral change communication aspects to their work in addressing the sanitation challenge.
