ABG HeadstaRt 2019 Grand Finale - The coming together of the backbone of an organisation, the HRs

The daybreak of 26th August indicated the beginning of the Grand Finale of ABG HeadstaRt 2019. Giving an opportunity to the budding HR leaders of the country, ABG HeadstaRt provided a platform that allowed participants to showcase their talents. Encircling the complex domain of HR, Human Resources, first-year students from specific, premier B-Schools, were invited to compete in a gruelling battle.
Meant to test the teams’ mettle on their HR expertise, the competition was open to students from specific B-Schools, namely, MDI, SCMHRD, SIBM Pune, TISS, XIMB and XLRI-HRM.
Open for a period of about 7 days, the registrations launched on 25th July and closed on 30th July. Spread across 5 rounds, the first three rounds of the competition comprised of the business simulation games. The other two dealt with the domains of case-study where the participants had to tackle live business cases and the Grand Finale where the top teams had to present their ideas to the HR leaders of the country.
The first round of ABG HeadstaRt was brought to light on 1st August, lasting for a day till 2nd August. The second and third rounds, similarly, lasted for two days too, from 5th to 6th August and from 7th to 8th August respectively. The fourth round, comprising of the case-study, went on for 3 days from 9th August to 12th August. The Grand Finale took place in Mumbai on 26th August.
Out of the 222 teams who registered for ABG HeadstaRt 2019, only 6 teams went on to the final round - the Grand Finale. Ashutosh Parida, Rajshree Sen and Sayali Gaikwad from SCMHRD were declared as the National Winners while the team comprising of Pawan Kumar Yadav, Aishwarya Londhe and Shyamlee Lokhande from TISS stood second. The team consisting of Ankita Chauhan, Yashovardhan Topre and Saksham Singh Tomar, hailing from MDI Gurgaon, was declared as the second runner up.
The Grand Finale called for the teams to pitch their ideas before the jury in the form of a 15-minute presentation. This was followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. The jury panel welcomed esteemed guests from the Aditya Birla Group, graced by Ashok R, Samik Basu, Parag Paranjpe, Satish Anand and Pooja Bahuguna.
The end of the presentations was marked by a panel discussion on the topic: “Evolution of HR and IR - Anticipated Changes in the Coming Years”. The discussion was lead by a set of distinguished panellists. Shobha Ratna, Samik Basu, Satish Anand and Pooja Bahuguna graced the panel with their presence.
Drawing the curtains, the Grand Finale came to a close with the felicitation of the winners, immediately followed by a Vote of Thanks.
Operating in a wide array of sectors, Aditya Birla Group (ABG), has spread its presence from telecom and cement to metals and textiles. With an aim to bring out the leaders of the country, ABG HeadstaRt has marked its presence amongst the top corporate competitions of the country. It gave the participants a captivating experience, keeping them on the edge throughout.
