A Pune-based software consultancy company, Data Tech Labs Inc., has launched a campaign called "AI for India" with the goal of making India the global digital talent hub and, more specifically, the "AI Capital of the World." This campaign is powered by AWS and supported by the Ministry of Education (GOI) and AICTE with the goal of evaluating, training, practicing, allocating projects, certifying, and employing over 25 Lakhs Indians.

Bridging The Gap Between Talent & Students!

During the launch of the event of AI For India, Chandrashekhar Budha, CCO of AICTE stated that the AI for India Initiative is attempting to bridge the supply and demand matrix in global tech talent with Indian students. Educational policies are also being revised in order to better prepare students for the future.

AI for India will ensure 20+ Lakhs of internships in 50k+ industries and 36K+ educational institutions under the government’s flagship Digital India initiative. The campaign will also provide digital education for employability and entrepreneurship to the 21st-century generation in the field of Arts, Commerce, Science, Architecture, Engineering, and others.

‘AI For India’: More Details On The Initiative

According to the official notification, there will be five events under the ‘AI For India’ initiative which will focus on different aspects of skill development in the Indian workforce. Candidates will be eligible to apply for jobs and opportunities upon completing any of the following events.

Division Of Events 

  1. National Future Engineering Scholarship Examination: Also NFESE, this event will be aimed towards AI adoption from an early age range from class 8th to 12th students, as well as shifting the necessity of AI learning towards Undergraduate/Postgraduate Students as well as individuals who wish to enhance their skills in emerging technologies.
  2. AISSA: The All India Skill to Scale Avenue event will be held for each and every student without any condition, and is especially aimed towards those who have passed out in pandemic years and possess a gap in skillsets as compared with industry requirements.
  3. AI Ideathon: The AI Ideathon event is aimed at encouraging students and individuals to make use of their creativity and produce ideas to solve any human-centric national issue with the help of AI, Data, Cloud, and allied sciences.
  4. All India Data Engineering Quiz Competition: This quiz event will be aimed at diversifying knowledge on data across domains and verticals.
  5. All India Jobathon for Cloud, Data and AI Aspirants: All participants who participate in and complete any of the above initiatives will be eligible to apply for 100000 jobs from Indian industries.

The ABCDEFGHI Program

The campaign is part of the Government of India's ABCDEFGHI program, which aims to influence and train students in AI, BlockChain, Cyber Security, Data Analytics and Intelligence, Extended Reality (XR), Electronics, Energy Solutions, Full Stack Developer, Gamification, GitHub, HTML5, Human-Computer Interaction, and IoT.

“This initiative by DataTech is an appreciable one! To give to the society in a form that builds a stronger future for the young generation, helps in building the economy, and ensures India comes in the limelight as a pool of talent needs support and recognition from each one,” stated Anil Shahatrbudhe, Chairman of AICTE.

The Government of India intends to register more than one crore students and train them in these intersecting fields for 3 to 6 months. As a result, students pursuing higher education can improve their knowledge of emerging technologies.
