Tech giant Amazon India has launched the 2nd edition of its Machine Learning (ML) Summer School, which is a specially designed program that aims to create learning opportunities in ML technologies for students in India. The program will provide a platform where young students will interact with scientists from Amazon and learn about key ML technologies. Students who participate in this program will become industry-ready for careers in science and Machine Learning.

Topics Covered In The Program

According to the information released by Amazon India, the Summer School is slated to start in July. It will be conducted over a period of 4 weekends and cover all the important topics under Machine Learning.

Based on the approach undertaken in the previous year, the Summer School will cover the following key ML topics.

Supervised Learning
Sequential Models
Dimensionality Reduction
Unsupervised Learning
Deep Neural Network
Reinforcement Learning
Causal Inference

Additionally, the students selected for the summer school will also be allowed to access the Amazon Research Days (ARD) conference. It's a conference organized by Amazon, usually in November every year, where stakeholders in the field of Artificial Intelligence, such as the scientific community at Amazon, industry leaders, and academic researchers working on AI and its application are invited.

The ML Challenge- A Gateway To Amazon

Students who will be selected for the ML Summer School at Amazon would be allowed to also participate in the ML Challenge- a flagship competition by Amazon where students work on an Amazon dataset and come up with fresh ideas and solutions to real-world problems.

Teams who win the competition will receive pre-placement interviews from Amazon for various ML roles. There will also be cash prizes and certificates for the top achievers.

How To Apply For Amazon ML Summer School?

Eligibility and Selection Process

Eligibility	Students in the second-last year of their course (Bachelor’s Master’s and Doctorate) from any campus in India.
Entrance Test	The first step in the selection process will have an entrance test where questions from basic ML applications and Maths will be asked.
Selection Process	The top 3000 students will be ranked based on their performance in the entrance teaching.

Only the candidates who attend all eight of the classes will be considered to have successfully completed the program. Even though the course is free of cost, candidates who successfully qualify will be awarded certificate scholarships for a nominal fee.
