As announced by the officials of DU, the first cut-off list 2020 for admissions to various UG courses (based on merit) has been rolled-out within the stipulated time. After 2011, the DU 2020 cut-offs has once again touched the 100% mark. The underlying reason behind the average increase of 0.5 to 2% points across colleges for various courses can be related to the upsurge in the percentage of students scoring 95% and above by 118.6% this year, and 67.48% in the number of students getting 90% and above.
To make things easier to comprehend, the university does not calculate the cut-offs based on the exact marks obtained in class 12 but is dependent on the best of four formulae. Calculating the minimum percentage required to enrol in the course is a multi-step process. Besides, the admissions to DU are not based on a first-come, first-serve system. If needed, the colleges even increase the number of seats to accommodate all eligible students.

The DU first cut-off list 2020 has brought cheer for some but could be despondent for others. So get yourself together and pin your hopes on the hard work you have invested to reach where you are today, as the number of cut-off lists varies every year. The cut-off lists can be as low as 5 in number or can even rise to 12 as seen in the year 2015! Fingers crossed. And a big congratulation to the ones who made it to the premier campuses of the Delhi University with the first cut-off itself!
