Tech giant Google is now inviting applications for Girl Hackathon 2023, a program aimed at testing the skills of female coders. This hackathon is only open to individual participation.

Please note: The last date to register is May 28, 2023.

Google’s Girl Hackathon 2023 is a pan-India program targeting female students in computer science and allied courses. Per the Girl Hackathon 2023 notification, the program is designed for women in the engineering campus space to showcase their coding skills and promote creative solutions for real-time technical challenges.

As the name suggests, the Girl Hackathon 2023 is a virtual hackathon program. Its aim is to test the participant’s innovative bent of mind and problem-solving skills.

Girl Hackathon 2023: Eligibility Criteria

The competition is open only to Indian women students. Students from a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Integrated Dual Degree Engineering and related courses within computer science and allied branches can apply.

Note: Students from the graduating batches of 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027 can enter.

Girl Hackathon 2023: Competition Structure

The Google Girl Hackathon 2023 is only open for individual participation. It’s divided into three rounds - Google Online Challenge, Learning Cohorts, and Virtual Ideathon Round. Participants will be shortlisted after each round.

Please find below the date and details of each round:

Coding Challenge	June 2, 2023	On the basis of their application, shortlisted participants will be invited for the first round - a coding round to test their coding skills. Participants will have to take up a real-life challenge during a specified time window. be provided a time window during which you will be asked to take up this challenge at your convenience. Both, your coding scores and resumes will be taken into consideration at the end of the round.
Learning Cohorts	June 10, 2023	Participants shortlisted from the coding round will be invited for an immersive learning experience as part of the Learning Cohorts. Here, they’ll engage and learn with Googlers, while als also working on assignments that will be evaluated in this round.
Ideathon	July 6, 2023	The finalists will put their knowledge into practice and ideate solutions for a themed problem statement. This round is divided into two parts - in the first section, participants submit their code repository. Based on the submissions, students will be shortlisted for the final presentation round. The best solutions amongst the lot will be judged by senior Google leaders.

Girl Hackathon 2023: Application Process

The registrations for the Girl Hackathon 2023 opened on May 22, 2023. Interested students must register here latest by May 28, 2023.

Please note: Students must submit their resumes via a drive link with permissions set to - anyone with the link can view. In case resumes can’t be accessed, the application will not be considered.

Please keep the following things in mind while applying for the Girl Hackathon 2023:

Students may only register as an individual.
Students must belong to a circuit majority course.
Students need to enroll for the hackathon with their personal email credentials and also add their university email as secondary in the form.
Entries can’t be modified after submission.
Late registrations or entries will not be considered.

Girl Hackathon 2023: Prizes

Winners and runners-up of the Girl Hackathon 2023 will receive cash prizes and Google-branded merchandise. The exact value of the cash prizes has not been disclosed by Google.
