IIM Indore Placement 2021: 100% Students Placed With Highest Stipend Of 4 Lakhs For 2-Month Summer Internship

IIM Indore has successfully completed its summer placements by achieving a 100% placement record for its two-year flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). IIM Indore witnessed participation from 573 students, the largest batch strength in the IIM family.

Many top firms like Amazon, Google, BCG, etc visited the campus this year. The highest stipend stood at 4 lakh for two months. The average stipend offered was 2 lakh for two months, witnessing an increase of 11% over the previous year. The median stipend stood at 2 lakh for the same period, increasing by 9% over the previous year. 

Let’s look at the key trends, top recruiters and sector-wise analysis of the summer placement report.

Top Recruiters at IIM Indore

IIM Indore witnessed participation from traditional recruiters as well as new firms. This year, 150+ firms participated in the summer placements, including 30+ new recruiters, which shows the faith that established firms have in the talent pool of IIM Indore.

New recruiters such as Accenture Strategy, AB InBev, Atomberg, Coca-Cola, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Eversana, Flipkart, Johnson & Johnson, Hindustan Times, etc. also hired in huge numbers. 

Sector-wise Analysis

Consulting (25%) was the most sought after sector in this year’s placements. It was followed by BFSI (17%) and FMCG (15%). Let’s look at some statistics to better understand the sector-wise and domain-wise trends and highlights.

1. Consulting 

Consulting has always been one of the most popular sectors in MBA colleges. This year was no exception. Maximum offers were made from the popular sector with consulting giants such as KPMG, McKinsey & Co, Optum (UHG), PwC India, BCG, Bain & Co, etc. hiring in huge numbers.

2. Sales & Marketing

This sector saw participation from various established firms and new FMCG recruiters, both offering diverse roles to candidates. There were Traditional recruiters such as Marico, PepsiCo, HUL, Procter & Gamble, Samsung, Xiaomi along with new entrants such as AB InBev, Phable Care, Atomberg Technologies, Coca-Cola, Dr Reddy’s Lab, Everest Industries, etc. 

3. Finance

Many prominent firms such as JP Morgan Chase & Co, Goldman Sachs, Barclays, Credit Suisse, DE Shaw, Deutsche Bank, etc. offered coveted Finance roles in huge numbers.

4. General Management

This sector also had its share of top firms such as Amazon, Capgemini Chrysalis, Capgemini Elite, Cipla, Cummins, Hindustan Times, JSW Group, Larsen & Toubro, Mahindra, OfBusiness, Reliance, Curefit, etc. 

5. IT & Data Analytics

IT giants such as Google, Microsoft, American Express, Baker Hughes, Capgemini, Wipro, etc. offered IT and data analytics roles to aspiring candidates.

The director of IIM Indore, Prof. Himanshu Rai, was very elated due to the 100% placement record this year, and the good hiring trends that their institute has shown over the years.

Our participants are amongst the brightest in the nation and the summer placement offers are a testimony to that’, he said.
