Microsoft, IBM, Bank of America lead IIM Nagpur Summer Placements 2022 | Highest Stipend Rise By 44%

In the recently concluded summer placement season at the Indian Institute of Management Nagpur, the two-year residential Post Graduate Programme in Management batch saw a 44% hike in the highest stipend from the previous season, going as high as INR 3.6 Lakhs. The total intake also saw a 17.78% rise and 244 students from IIM Nagpur got placement offers. 

The average stipend of the batch also rose by 12.5% to INR 70,500, and more than 77 recruiters across different sectors took part in the drive.

IIM Nagpur Placements: Sector-wise Performance

In the placement drive that ended on 28th January 2022, IIM Nagpur recorded a 100% placement. IT, Sales & Marketing, and FMCG/FMCD were the most sought-after sectors and 50% of the batch took up offers here.

On the other hand, 20% of the students joined consulting, pharma & healthcare, e-commerce, and media & entertainment in various job profiles. As per the information released by the institute, there were many first-time recruiters as well who offered double-digit average stipends to students.

The director of IIM-Nagpur, Prof. Bhimaraya Metri said, “IIM-Nagpur’s ecosystem has once again proved that it is better than the best.” She then thanked all the corporate leaders and esteemed recruiters for their endorsement of the management institute's young talent.

According to the press release by the institute, the current batch profile had 30-months of experience in the industry through various summer internship programs. This was the primary reason behind such high average stipends.

Top recruiters at IIM-Nagpur

As mentioned before, more than 77 recruiters participated in the IIM-Nagpur placement drive this year. FMCG/FMCD, Consulting, Oil & Gas, E-commerce, Analytics, Ed-Tech as well as Retail were the major sectors. 

Among the first-time recruiters, there were top names like ICICI Bank, Bank of America, Sodexo, D.E. Shaw and BNY Mellon. Startups like Bangalore-based Juspay, Big Basket and YourStory Media were also on the list, giving students a plethora of options to choose from.

Other prominent recruiters on the list included Microsoft, Hindustan Petroleum, V-Guard, BNY Melon, Nivia Sports, and L&T Infotech. Finance giant YES securities and Doha Bank also joined the drive and offered the students excellent packages.
