IIT Delhi’s online internship drive witnesses a whopping 300 offers

In its very initial phase of the online internship drive, IIT Delhi saw 300 offers made to its undergraduate students, for the academic year 2020-21 in its digital hiring session. The first phase began on September 6th, 2020, and ended in a very delightful mode where the unique selections rose up to 230, including international training offers from the US, Hong Kong, and South Korea.

Multiple e-resources used for the selection process

There were a large number of e-resources that were used for the selection process, including the internship. The sessions that were held online were:

1. Registrations
2. Students’ training and orientations
3. Company presentations
4. Company pre-processes (tests, group discussions, and selection interviews)

Internship highlights

Students who are currently studying in their second and third years of undergraduate courses and the fourth year of four-year dual-degree programmes were hired as interns by various national and international companies in the online internship drive. 

Many students of IIT Delhi were fortunate enough to have bagged multiple internship offers. The online internship drive at the institution via the virtual hiring sessions has seen over 150 different organizations for the current hiring session. The last phase of the internship drive will commence in January 2021.

Robust hiring numbers

Miss Anishya O. Madan, ILO and Head, Officer of Career Services, IIT Delhi remarked that the numerous selections at IIT Delhi have been very impressive for the undergraduates who opted for the summer internship program of 2020-2021. She exclaimed that such robust intern hiring numbers are a clear indicator of better hiring in the final stage of the placement session as well.

The institute gladly reveals its pride in saying that the seamless conduct of the online internship selection processes was a coordinated effort of the entire team that included the staff, volunteers, and student coordinators along with the industry players across many domains.
