9 Students From IIT Patna Receive INR 61 LPA Package; Institute Sets Record With Getting 252 Placement Offers

With the onset of its annual placement season in the first week of December, the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna  has endorsed a record breaking number of placements in the first phase itself. As per the institute, the 2022 graduating batch has secured a massive number of offers; the domestic packages, average packages and the number of pre-placement offers also stand the highest ever recorded.

IIT Patna has so far witnessed a total of 87 companies belonging to a plethora of domains, eager to recruit students from variegated profiles. These include Software and IT, Finance and Banking, Analytics & Consulting, Core Engineering, E-commerce, Automobile, Infrastructure, Manufacturing and Health care. The job profiles offered include Software Engineer, Hardware Engineer, Application Engineer, Product Engineer, Quant Analyst, Data Scientist, Digital Consultant, Manager, Infrastructure Analyst, Machine Learning Engineer, Digital Engineer, Decision Analyst, Consulting, Management Trainee, GET (Graduate Engineer Trainee), PGET etc.

IIT Patna Placement Highlights

1. 252 job offers, compared to a mere 96 last year.
2. 46 offers with more than Rs 40 lakh pay package, and 68 offers with more than Rs 30 lakh pay package.
3. Average package for B.Tech students stands at Rs 26.95 Lakh
4. A colossal package of Rs 61.3 lakh has been offered from the firm Oracle to 9 students each.
5. The highest international package offered is from Accenture Japan, offering Rs 47.9 LPA to a total of 3 students.

IIT Patna Placement: Average Package of 26.95 LPA

Talking about the details of the surge, students have so far been the recipient of 252 job offers, compared to a mere 96 last year. Kripa Shankar Singh, training and placement officer, IIT Patna has said that the average package has risen up significantly this year.

Around 46 offers have been extended with more than Rs 40 lakh pay package, and 68 offers with more than Rs 30 lakh pay package. Average package for B.Tech students stands at Rs 26.95 Lakh, while that for M.Tech students remains Rs 14.96 Lakh. The highest domestic packages have witnessed a spike with respect to last year.

Top recruiters at IIT Patna

A colossal package of Rs 61.3 lakh has been offered from the firm Oracle to 9 students each. Other highest domestic packages include Atlassian offering Rs 57.4 lakh to 6 students, MTX offering Rs 51.10 lakh to 1 student, Adobe India offering Rs 48 LPA to 9 students, and Google India offering Rs 46.5 LPA to 10 students.

The highest international package offered is from Accenture Japan, offering Rs 47.9 LPA to a total of 3 students. Besides these companies, top recruiters include Larson and Toubro, Sprinklr, Deloitte, NSL Hub, Dhani, Optum, Media.net, Bosch, Gameskraft, Mathworks, Trilogy Innovations and Smartcoin.

New Recruiters

The 2021 placement season has seen more than 30 new companies participating in the campus recruitment for the first time. These include Zomato, Plutus Research, Oyo Rooms, Texas Instruments, Housing.com, Tata Electronics, Netapp, Unacademy, Searce, Flipkart, Qualcomm, Paytm, Tata Digital, and Sterlite Technologies.

Adding further to the triumph, there has been a massive spike in the number of PPOs extended to the students. As per Prof Jose V Parambil, Professor In charge Training and Placement, IIT Patna, PPOs received stand over 54% more than last year. “surge in PPOs shows our students’ resilience and commitment during summer internships”, he said.

It is thus remarkable to note that despite the covid pandemic and its detrimental repercussions on the economy, IIT Patna has bagged such a remarkable feat. The students with their resolve and diligence have shown beyond doubt that there is nothing impossible for believers.
