IITs have registered record placements this year despite the rippling effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy in 2020. For instance, as per the reports, 11 students from IIT Roorkee fetched a CTC of more than INR 1 crore with the highest offer of INR 2.15 crore (international). Big Firms Make Big Hires in IIT Placements 2021

Big offers from industry giants like Accenture, Amazon, Razorpay, Deutsche Bank, American Express, QuickSell, Housing.com, Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase & Co, McKinsey, Microsoft, Qualcomm, and others indicate how IITs are tweaking their strategy for placement season to custom-fit the new market post-Covid.

IIT Roorkee sets benchmark; bags highest CTC of INR 2.15 crore 

IIT Roorkee nailed the placement season this year!

During the first session of Day One of the final placements process, IIT Roorkee bagged the highest international pay of INR 2.15 crore, more than three times as compared to the last year (INR 69.05 lakh). Remarkably, 13 students received international placements on day one.

Last year, the highest domestic package stood at INR 80 lakh, which scaled to INR 1.8 crore this year. Major highlights of the IIT Roorkee placement 2021 are as follows:

• On the first day, a total of 35 companies participated in the drive
• A striking 437 number of offers, including PPOs, were made on the first day of the placement drive
• 13 students were offered international offers
• One student was able to bag INR 2.15 crore CTC (international)
• Three students received a CTC of INR 1.30 crore to INR 1.8 crore (domestic)
• 11 students received a CTC of more than INR 1 crore during the placement drive

IIT Delhi records strong gains; around 60 offers above INR 1 Cr on Day 1

IIT Delhi did it again! As per the placement reports, IIT Delhi received around 60 offers of above INR 1 Crore on day one itself. Major highlights of IIT Delhi placements 2021 are as follows:

• Over 350 national and international organizations have offered above 750 job profiles across multiple sectors
• This year, there has been an over 45 percent increase in the number of offers received 
• As compared to the last year, IIT Delhi has witnessed a 35 percent increase in the indicative compensation offered by companies
• Students have already bagged over 400 placement offers, including PPOs, by the end of the first day which is the highest in the past five years
• Around seven students opted for deferred placements 

Top recruiters at IIT Delhi placement drive 2021 included Microsoft, Bain, Goldman Sachs, Graviton, Boston Consulting Group, Intel, NK Securities, and Texas Instruments.

IIT Guwahati takes home the highest international CTC of INR 2.05 crore; 70% increase in domestic offer

The institute has remarked an increase of 70% in the domestic offer compared to 2020, INR 70 lakh. The highest domestic offer bagged by IIT Guwahati as of day 2 of the placement process is INR 1.2 crore. The major highlights of the IIT Guwahati Placements 2021 are as follows:

• By the end of the second day of placements, students received as many as 530 offers
• The total number of offers received by the institute have soared by 50.14% as compared to 2020 (353 offers)
• The highest international offer received by a PG student of IIT Guwahati so far is INR 2.05 crore
• Students bagged 179 PPOs from companies this year which is higher 34.5% higher than the number of PPOs received by students in 2020 (133 PPOs)

The prominent recruiters of IIT Guwahati Placements 2021 include Google, Uber, Rakuten, JP Morgan Chase, Walmart, Schlumberger, Graviton, Texas Instrument, Microsoft, Apple, Bajaj, Qualcomm, Goldman Sachs, among others.

IIT Bombay sees a 50% increase in selection; bags highest pay of INR 2.05 crore

By the end of day 2, IIT Bombay reported a selection of 756 students. As per the reports, the institute has witnessed a 50% rise compared to last year (503 students). Major highlights of IIT Bombay Placements 2021-2022 are as follows:

• On day 2, 263 students were selected in 60 companies
• Around eight international companies visited on day 2
• A total of 57 companies participated on day 3 of the IIT Bombay placement drive
• As per the reports, the institute bagged the highest package of INR 2.05 crore (Uber) on the first day
• Prominent domestic recruiters included Google, Bain and Company, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Boston Consulting Group, and Airbus, among others

IIT Madras adds 176 offers and 231 PPOs in its kitty on day one

In a tough competition with IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, IIT Madras marked an increase of 43 percent in the number of offers received on day one compared to last year. Major highlights of IIT Madras placements 2021 are as follows:

• A total of 1498 students registered for placements 2021-2022
• The institute received 176 offers from 34 companies 
• 11 students bagged international offers on the first day of placement
• 22 companies made 123 offers by the end of the first day during the previous placement drive 
• Combining the number of pre-placement offers (231), the total tally of offers received so far is 407
• The prominent recruiters include Bajaj Auto, Bain and Company, Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase & Co, McKinsey, Microsoft, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments, among others

IIT BHU rock and rolls on Day 2; see 810 offers with the highest pay of INR 2.05 Crore

IIT BHU welcomed coveted recruiters like Uber, Google, and Microsoft this year and bagged offers equivalent to INR 2 Crore. The US-based company Uber offered placement to five students, with the highest pay of INR 2.05 Crore to one among them on the first day of the placement drive. The major highlights of the IIT BHU Placements 2021-2022 are as follows:

• A total of 1243 students have registered for the placement drive this year
• Last year, 142 companies rolled out 498 offers to the bright minds on day 2
• This year, the institute witnessed 810 job offers from 190 companies on Day 2 of this placement season, which is a significant increase in the numbers
• 80 companies rolled out 446 paid internship offers
