Indian Air Force (IAF) has commenced the registration process for the Air Force Common Admission Test 2 (AFCAT 2) 2023, presenting an excellent opportunity for aspiring candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech). This recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies in the esteemed Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branch.

AFCAT 2023 | Eligibility Criteria

The AFCAT 2 exam serves as a gateway for individuals dreaming of a career in the Indian Air Force. What sets this year's AFCAT apart is its inclusivity, as even final-year students pursuing their BE/B.Tech degrees are eligible to apply. This widens the scope for passionate individuals who are on the cusp of completing their engineering education.

As per Indian Air Force Recruitment 2023, aspiring candidates should meet the following criteria for the respective posts.

A. Flying Branch of the Indian Airforce

Educational Qualification

A minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.

BE/B. Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR -

Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Final-year students who do not have any present backlog and have secured a minimum of 60% marks up to the last semester

B. Ground Duty - Technical Branch of the Indian Airforce

BE/B. Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR -

Candidates who have cleared Section A & B of the Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR-

Candidates who have cleared the Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in given disciplines.*

A minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.

BE/B. Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR -

Candidates with a minimum of three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Educational Qualification - Weapon Systems (WS) branch

A minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level. OR -

Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India). OR -

Candidates who have cleared Section A & B of the Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. 

Educational Qualification - Accounts Systems branch

A minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level. 

Graduation in one of the following:

  • B.Com degree 
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (with specialization in Finance)
  • Bachelor of Management Studies (with specialization in Finance)
  • Bachelor of Business Studies (with specialization in Finance)
  • Qualified CA/ CMA/ CS/ CFA
  • B.Sc. with specialization in Finance

Educational Qualification - Logistics branch

A minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level. OR -

Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India). OR -

Candidates who have cleared Section A & B of the Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. 

Educational Qualification - Education branch

Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG.

60% marks in Graduation in any discipline.

Educational Qualification - Meteorology branch

Passed 10+2 

B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics with a minimum of 60% marks. OR -

Four-year Graduation in Engineering/Technology discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the select streams.

AFCAT 2023 | Application Fees and Salary

As per the Indian Air Force Recruitment 2023 notification, shortlisted candidates will be granted a monthly salary ranging from a bracket of INR 56,100 to INR 1,77,500, depending on rank and position.
