The fourth prestigious institute of IIM family, established after IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Bangalore was IIM Lucknow. The institute has produced some renowned names in the field of management who have been leaders, managers and global players in major organizations around the world.

Undertaking a diverse range of academic activities aimed at creation and application of management knowledge and practice, the primary aim of this b-school is to serve the nation with finest brains. Check the list of some of Indian Institute of Management Lucknow Notable Alumni.

Notable Alumni of IIM Lucknow

1. Rajdeep Grewal

An award-winning researcher, Rajdeep Grewal is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Marketing Research. The former area editor for the Journal of Marketing, Grewal’s work has appeared in top academic journals, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science and Strategic Management Journal.

He received a post-graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. In 2020 Dr. Grewal received the Sheth Foundation/Journal of Marketing Award for his paper “The Chief Marketing Officer Matters!” The award honors the article published in the Journal of Marketing in 2015 that has made the most important long-term contributions to the field of marketing.

2. Taniya Biswas

Graduated in 2013, Taniya forayed into business at IIM-L itself through a venture that she started with her friends, a beauty salon called HeadToToe. She worked at IBM and TATA group before she quitted to start Suta, a sustainable clothing brand focusing on sarees, blouses and lehengas. Suta has grown immensely over the past few years, and now works with 1,400+ weavers across India. 

3. Roopa Satish

Roopa Satish is the Country Head:Institutions & Investment Banking at Indusind Bank Ltd. She joined IIM Lucknow to specialize in Finance and Marketing. Post IIM-L, she chose the field of banking to develop her career.

Roopa is well known for setting up Sustainable Banking Business in IndusInd. She has also formulated the Environment Social Management System for the bank and set up a governance mechanism to implement it. She is a part of the India Sustainability Team to decide the bank’s support areas and rolling out initiatives in supporting Environment; Health and Heritage. 

She has instituted an “Innovation Centre” at IndusInd - a platform where members are encouraged to share ideas, which are then incubated and developed. She is also currently incubating a new business “Impact Investing” targeting strong Social Impact.

4. Shreya Sachdev

Shreya, the Head of Marketing & Strategy at Puma, pursued an MBA from IIM Lucknow. She worked extensively in the FMCG sector at McKinsey and joined PUMA in 2019 to lead Strategic Initiatives. The rich and diverse experiences she gathered throughout her career saw her successfully lead numerous key projects. 

5. Kavish Gadia

Kavish Gadia, an alum of IIM Lucknow started out his career as a consultant in KPMG. He had business consulting assignments in various sectors such as Consumer Markets, Business Process Outsourcing, Media & Entertainment, Telecom, Financial Services and Infrastructure. 

From KPMG he moved onto O3 Capital, where his work involved relationship building, deal ideation, deal sourcing, and execution. In October 2008, he decided to quit his high-paying job and turn his passion for reading into a business. He came up with the idea of Stones2Milestones whose primary goal is to create a healthy reading ecosystem for children. 

Stones2Milestones’ flagship programme, Wings of Words (WoW) is transforming the way children learn to read English. WoW is integrated with a school’s curriculum and focuses on creating a reading culture in school and improving fluency and comprehension in English.
