No reduction in VITEEE syllabus 2021
Mr Kalaichelvan, Director of UG admission at VIT Vellore said that “If you look at the IIT JEE syllabus, it has also not been reduced on any account. The reason is that these portions can be learnt easily”. He said that the portions of the class 12 syllabus which have been removed by different boards this year are easy to learn and can be attempted by students if they have studied those topics themselves
No weightage to class 12 marks
Last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, admissions to VIT were given on the basis of class 12 marks but the director has clarified that this year the admissions will be given solely on the basis of the VITEEE 2021 exam scores. The students who clear the entrance exam will be given ranks and a merit list will be prepared on the basis of which admissions will take place.
No multiple sessions of VITEEE this year
VITEEE 2021 will not be held in multiple sessions though it might be conducted in more than 1 session from the next year. The director said that “We will have to look at how the situation plans out. If next year we can hold VITEEE in April as we normally do, we can think of another attempt but that is after we check the possibilities and the paper. Right now, that is not on the cards”. He added that “The exam is in June and the window is short. So, it’s not possible to allow more than one attempt this year”.
