The National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) declared the result for the first session exam on 8th March 2021 which was held from 23rd to 26th February 2021. This year keeping the COVID-19 pandemic in consideration the exam will be conducted in 4 sessions in the months of February, March, April, and May. The JEE Main 2021 result for the February session is available on the official website of NTA.

JEE Main 2021 important details

Some important details regarding JEE Main 2021 are as follows:

  1. In the JEE Main 2021 February session, 6.52 lakh candidates registered for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.)
  2. It was conducted in 331 cities including 9 cities outside India in 828 centers
  3. It was conducted in total 6 shifts from 24th to 26th February 2021
  4. A total number of 6.20 lakh candidates had appeared in the February session Paper 1 exam 
  5. The examination was conducted for the first time in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Gujarati along with Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu

How to check JEE Main 2021 result?

Candidates can follow the below-given steps to check their results:

  1. Go to the official JEE Main NTA website.
  2. Click on "JEE(Main) February 2021 Session Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) Result - Link 2”.
  3. A new window will open where the candidates who appeared for the examination will have to enter their details.
  4. Details include Application Number, Date of Birth, and Security Pin.
  5. Click on the “SUBMIT” button.
  6. The JEE Main 2021 result for the February session will be displayed.

Candidates are advised to download the results for future reference.

What are NTA scores and how are they calculated?

NTA scores are normalized scores across multi-session papers. They are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in a particular session. 

The marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for candidates who appeared in each session.

The formula for NTA score calculation 

The following formula is used to calculate the NTA score for a particular candidate:

(100*Number of candidates who appeared in the ‘Session’ with a raw score equal to or less than the candidate)/(Total number of the candidates who appeared in the ‘Session’)

Candidates should note that the NTA score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained.

When will the ranks of the candidates be released?

The ranks of the candidates will be released after the February, March, April, and May session of JEE Main 2021 exam taking into consideration the best of the four NTA scores.

The candidates can appear in one, two, three, four examinations as per their choice.

The following candidates achieved a perfect 100 NTA score in the JEE Main 2021 result for February session Paper 1:

  1. Saket Jha (Rajasthan)
  2. Pravar Kataria (Delhi (NCT))
  3. Ranjim Prabal Das (Delhi(NCT))
  4. Guramrit Singh (Chandigarh)
  5. Siddhant Mukherjee (Maharashtra)
  6. Ananth Krishna Kidambi (Gujarat)

Among the female candidates, Komma Sharanya topped with an NTA score of 99.9990421.

What toppers with 100 NTA scores have to say?

Ranjim Prabal Das, one of the toppers has plans to go to IIT Delhi for further studies or IISc Bangalore for graduation in science. He had also contracted COVID-19 during the course of his preparation but it didn’t stop him from continuing his preparation as soon as his fever went down. He is also a follower of Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, the company that revolutionized the auto industry around the world.

Another topper Guramrit Singh from Chandigarh was also among the 6 candidates who scored a perfect 100 NTA score. Still, he plans to re-appear in the next session as he believes it will help him boost his confidence for JEE Advanced. He wishes to do his undergraduate in computer science engineering from IIT Bombay or IIT Delhi. He is also focused to do well in the upcoming CBSE board exams scheduled to be held in May and in JEE Advanced on 3rd July 2021.  

Siddhant Mukherjee, a topper from Maharashtra focused primarily on NCERT books for his JEE Main preparation. Currently, he is preparing for Class 12 board exams and JEE Advanced. He has been an exceptional student throughout his school days and has secured Rank 1 in NSEJs-Stage 1 and an offer letter from Cambridge University. Apart from academics he has been an active participant in extracurricular activities and is a Black belt in Karate.
