In less than 24 hours of its launch, Meta’s new app Threads by Instagram has amassed 55 million users. The numbers are likely to continue growing. In fact, famous influencer Mr. Beast already has over a million followers on the app. Again, it’s only been a day since the world started “threading”.

Threads’ 55M+ user base includes celebrities, influencers, organizations, and of course, students. No other generation is as familiar or comfortable with social media as Gen Z and Gen Alpha. Naturally, they had a lot to say and feel about Threads, and how it could be a better experience for the student community.

Let’s take a look at some of the features students wish Threads app.

Deleting Threads Without Deleting Instagram

Apart from these features, if there’s one feature that not just students but all Threads users want, it’s the option to delete your Threads account without it automatically deleting your Instagram account. Many individuals use different social media apps for different purposes. And may just want to delete one app, without it compromising the other. Currently, Threads does not offer that option.

However, users have the option to deactivate their account on Threads. Here’s how:

  • On your profile tab, tap the two lines icon for settings.
  • Once the settings open, click on “Account” and select “Deactivate profile”.
  • You can then click on the “Deactivate Threads profile” button.
  • You can reactivate the profile later if you so desire.

If Meta really is listening, always, then we hope updates to Threads incorporate these features.
