Top institutes of India notifies Summer Research Fellowship Programme 2021

Top institutes of India in the field of Science and Technology like The National Academy of Sciences, Indian Academy of Sciences, Bengaluru and Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi have issued Summer Research Fellowship Programme 2021 for students and teachers in India.

Eligibility criteria for the Summer Research Fellowship Programme:

1. Students and teachers from UGC/AICTE/MCI/Accredited Institutions and universities can apply.

2. Students willing to apply must be studying in one of the following courses:

  • BS/BSc/BVSc (2nd year) 
  • BE/B.Tech/BCA (2nd and 3rd year)
  • B.Pharm (3rd and 4th year)
  • B.Arch (2nd, 3rd and 4th year)
  • MVSc/M.Pharm/MS/MSc.  (1st year) 
  • ME/M.Tech/MCA/M.Arch. (1st year)
  • MS (5-year integrated)/MSc./M.Tech/MBBS (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)
  • PharmD (3rd, 4th year) 
  • BTech + MTech (dual degree) (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)
  • BE + MSc. (dual degree) (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)
  • BS + MS (dual degree) (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)
  • Integrated Ph.D. (1st, 2nd year) 
  • MSc. Tech (1st, 2nd year)

3. For students, the minimum average score from 10th to post-graduation must be 65% or above. It doesn’t apply to teachers.

4. Ph.D. students and the candidates who have priorly availed the Academies fellowship twice before are not eligible to apply.

The application process for the Summer Research Fellowship Programme:

1. Candidates can apply by visiting the official websites -  www.ias.ac.in/ www.insaindia.res.in/ www.nasi.org.in 

2. The application must include - 

  • The application form in the prescribed format.
  • Scanned copies of mark sheets from class X. It is mandatory to upload it in the prescribed jpg. format.
  • A write-up (in about 150-250 words) specifying the area in which the applicant wants to apply. It must include what the candidate is willing to achieve via the Summer Research Fellowship Programme. It can also include the specific area or experiment that the applicant would like to work on.
  • Teacher applicants must upload their publications if there are any. 
  • Student applicants must provide the email id of one of their teachers or HoD familiar so that the academy can approach them for the recommendation.

3. The registration number will be assigned after the submission of the online form.

The last date to register is 30th November 2021.

The Official Notice of Information regarding selection and concurrence of the guide will be released around February-March 2021. The selected candidate must work with the guide for two months preferably summers. To meet their living expenses at the place of work they will be provided with an appropriate round trip train fare along with a monthly fellowship.
