OutThink 2025: Stages and Timelines

MCQ Assessment

Teams will have to take an online MCQ assessment based on Aptitude questions and will feature questions based on Sales & Marketing, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, IT & Analytics, and Aptitude. Participants will have to answer 30 questions in 30 minutes. It is mandatory for all team members to attempt the assessment. This will be an elimination round.

Case Launch & Submission

Shortlisted teams have to submit a 2-3 minute video pitch and a PPT with up to 7-8 slides. Teams must choose one problem statement and follow the naming convention Team Name_Case Code. Submissions can be updated before the deadline, however late entries will not be considered for evaluation.

Grand Finale Submission

Shortlisted teams will have to make the final submission for the Grand Finale.

Grand Finale

The top 8 teams will be shortlisted for the Grand Finale, where they will have the opportunity to present their ideas to the Senior Leadership of L&T. The finale will take place at the L&T Mumbai corporate office.

We invite you to be a part of OutThink 2025, an opportunity that challenges participants to solve business case problems with out-of-the-box solutions. Seize this opportunity to shine in the dynamic rounds of OutThink 2025 with the chance to secure a pre-placement interview with L&T and cash prize pool worth INR 2,25,000.

Eligibility:

  • The competition is open for all full-time 1st-Year MBA students (all specializations) from selected institutes.
  • Team Size: 3 members.
  • Cross-specialization teams are allowed.
  • Students currently pursuing part-time, distance learning, and executive MBA programs are not eligible to participate. 
  • Cross-college team formation is not allowed.
  • Candidates from the eligible list of institutes can participate in this challenge.

Competition Structure:

The three stages of OutThink are as follows:

MCQ Assessment:

  • All registered teams will have to attempt the online quiz round. The average score of all the team members will be considered as the final score for the team.
  • It is mandatory for all team members to attempt the assessment.
  • Participants will answer 30 questions in 30 minutes.
  • The quiz will be based on general aptitude questions as well as specialization-specific questions.
  • Teams will advance to the next level based on their performance in this assessment.

Case Launch & Submission:

  • Shortlisted teams will be required to submit a 2-3 minute video pitch and a PPT with up to 7-8 slides (excluding cover slides). Annexures can be added to these slides.
  • Each team is required to pick only 1 problem statement.
  • You may compress your video using this link.
  • Team leader can change their submissions by clicking on ‘Submission’ and then ‘Change Submission’, any time before the submission deadline.
  • Please submit your files in this naming convention only: Team Name_Case Code.
  • Late submissions will not be considered for evaluation.

Grand Finale:

  • The top 6 teams would be shortlisted for the Grand Finale.
  • National Finalist teams will get the opportunity to present their ideas to the Senior Leadership of L&T.
  • Further details on venue/date etc. will be shared with the shortlisted teams at the appropriate time.

Rewards & Prizes:

  • Top Performers to win Pre-Placement Interviews (PPIs) with L&T.
  • Winners will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 1,00,000.
  • 1st Runners-up will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 75,000.
  • 2nd Runners-up will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 50,000.

Merger & Acquisition:

  • Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) Corporate Award 2019 was given to L&T in the Construction & Infrastructure Development category.
