Admission Process and Selection Criteria of IIM Indore for 2020

With CAT results out on 4th January, students have eagerly been waiting for the shortlists, to know whether or not they’ve been qualified to the further rounds of WAT/ GD and PI. Amongst the other top IIMs, IIM Indore released its selection criteria too, stating the essential requirements that students need to meet for admissions. The admission process at IIM Indore is divided into the following three stages:

  1. Eligibility Criteria

  2. Shortlist for WAT, Written Ability Test and Personal Interview

  3. Final Selection

The Eligibility Criteria

Before a student is shortlisted for the further rounds of WAT and PI, they must fulfil the basic eligibility criteria of CAT 2019. They should have scores that are in line with the minimum sectional percentiles along with the overall percentile. Only the candidates that match the given criteria will be selected for the next stage of the selection process.

The ones who clear the first round of selection will then get shortlisted for the second round of WAT and personal interview, according to the criteria mentioned below. The composite score is the formula to calculate the maximum score. It is a check that decides whether or not you will be selected by IIM Indore. The above-mentioned Zmin, Zmax and Zcandidate for 12th and 10th will be computed using the normalisation process.

The following points should be kept in mind regarding the shortlist of candidates:

  • Students having excellent credentials to their plate will be awarded more points during shortlisting.
