Applications invited for SPARK summer internship 2021 at IIT Roorkee
IIT Roorkee is organizing Institute-funded SPARK summer internship 2021 with a weekly stipend of INR 2500 and project-funded summer internships. Online applications for the same have been invited from both national and international students.
The objective of the SPARK summer internship program 2021 is to provide research exposure to interested undergraduate students of IIT Roorkee and to attract and nurture talented undergraduate students of other institutes. Some of these students may then choose to apply for postgraduate or doctoral studies at IIT Roorkee.
The major features of the SPARK internship program include:
- A stipend of INR 2500/week
- The online mode and hassle-free application process
- Students work on focussed projects advertised at the time of application
- Regular progress reviews and poster sessions with awards for best posters
Eligibility criteria of SPARK summer internship 2021
Students who are currently enrolled and have completed at least two semesters of the undergraduate degree (B.Arch./B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc) in a relevant discipline from any institute in India are eligible to apply for the SPARK summer internship 2021.
They must follow a minimum CGPA criterion:
- CGPA > 7.5 for IITs/IISc
- CGPA > 8.0 for NITs/IISERs/NISER/IIEST/UM - DAECBS
- CGPA > 8.5 for students of other institutes
Guidelines to remember:
- The interested candidates should log in to the online portal to submit their applications and view the status of their applications.
- The applicants are required to upload the last semester mark sheet of the current degree, photograph, a 500-word research statement, and a brief resume. For students of other institutes, NOC will also be sought on joining.
- There should be a mention of five faculty members of their choice from the list of faculty members interested in having a summer intern.
- For accommodation and mess facilities check their official portal. However, the average cost of housing would be around INR 5500/month (including mess facility).
- All the interns will be required to abide by the conduct rules of the institute and will be issued a temporary institute ID to avail the library, sports, medical, computer center, internet, etc.
- All the interns will be provided with a certificate with the name of the intern and mentor, signed by Dean, SRIC at the successful completion of the SPARK summer internship 2021.
