The entire team of 3 Idiots had reportedly stayed in the hostel of IIM Bangalore, spanning the duration of the film’s shoot for a couple of months. In order to get into character, Aamir even decided to stay at the hostel; interacting with students and asking them how it was to be a student, accounts from their daily lives, and their experiences.
A student said in an old interview, “The star actor met students regularly during mornings and evenings and chatted with them about their routine studies and way of life. He inquired about how an IIM-B student thinks.”
