IIM-Calcutta completes 100% summer placement with Accenture and Microsoft as top recruiters

IIM Calcutta has completed its summer placement of batch 2022. It achieved 100% placement with Accenture emerging as one of the top recruiters followed by Microsoft.

Around 139 firms participated in the summer placement process out of which 43 turned out to be first time recruiters with 473 students participating in it. The placement was bifurcated into 3 clusters as per the core business competencies of the firm and the cohorts, ranked by student preference - November 23, November 26, and November 28 -

Cluster - 1

It consisted of 5 cohorts which had top firms in investments, venture capital firms, private equity, management, consulting, and various others at international locations. A total of 180 students were placed at 35 firms with Accenture offering 21 offers.

Cluster - 2

It consisted of 60 firms that offered 80 roles in conglomerates, software services, e-commerce, FMCG, consumer services and consumer durables cohorts. A total of 171 students got placed with Microsoft emerging as the top recruiter offering 11 summer placements.

Cluster - 3

There were a total of 44 firms from the cohorts of BFSI, manufacturing, hospitality services, food aggregators, consulting services, power and utilities and start-up. 122 students got placed in total.

The hiring trends were as follows -

40% of the students got placed in Consulting, Finance, and BFSI
32% of the students bagged summer placements in General Management and Sales & Marketing roles.
Remaining 28% landed roles in Operations, Product Management, e-commerce, and Startups.
