IIM Calcutta Placements 2022 | Avg CTC of INR 34.2 LPA; Highest-ever Recorded At The Institute

IIM Calcutta has successfully concluded the final placements for its 57th batch, which comprised 465 students across several programs. Over 190 companies participated in the placement drive at IIM Calcutta in multiple clusters this year, rolling out 631 offers. The average salary at the Kolkata-based institute saw an all-time high, going up to INR 34.2 LPA - a rise of 17% from last year.

Just like other top B-schools in India, the placement process at IIM Calcutta was conducted virtually this year, and top companies across different sectors - like BCG, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, to name a few, participated in the drive.

Consulting, however, emerged as the top sector with 49% of the students in the whole batch taking up offers here.

Consulting

• Consulting emerged as the top sector in IIM Calcutta Placements 2022 rolling out 49% of the total number of offers.
• Among the top recruiters were Accenture Strategy, Bain & Co, Boston Consultancy Group (BCG), EY Parthenon, and McKinsey & Co. 

Banking Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI)

• In the BFSI sector, a total of 18% of the total number of offers were recorded.
• The top recruiters in this sector were Goldman Sachs and Avendus Capital Private Limited.

General Management & Marketing

• General management & Marketing rolled out 14% of the total offers in IIM Calcutta placements 2022.
• The prominent recruiters in this sector were Hindustan Unilever Limited, ITC, Nestle, P&G, and Tata Administrative Services.

Product Management & Operations

• Product Management & Operations made 19% of the total number of offers.

Response From IIM Calcutta

Manish Thakur, the dean of IIM Calcutta, lauded the students for achieving such high placements in spite of the impending pandemic. He said, “the 57th batch has undergone several transitions due to the pandemic situation and all of us at IIm Calcutta are very proud of their achievements”. 

Uttam Kumar Sarkar, the director of IIM Calcutta, thanked the recruiters for recognizing the talent of the batch at IIM Calcutta. “The placement speaks volumes of the capabilities of our students”, he said. The director added, “IIM Calcutta wishes the outgoing batch the very best in their professional and personal lives”.
