Scope And Utility Of The Programme At IIM Calcutta
In India itself, the supply chain and logistics is an estimated USD 200 billion and contribute 14% of India’s GDP. Considering the statistics, the course aims to significantly boost the skill levels of professionals currently in the industry.
Megha Sharma, Associate Professor of Operations Management from IIM Calcutta, said, “In a rapidly changing business landscape marked by fast-paced technology-led disruption across supply chains globally and the uncertainties that it brings along, upskilling with contemporary insights and best practices is indispensable for business success. As per recent media reports, India will play a significant role in reshaping supply chains and could contribute more than $500 billion annually to the global economy by 2030.”
On the commencement of the 10th batch of the program, Programme Director, Prof. Bodhibrata Nag, Professor of Operations Management at IIM Calcutta said, “We have upskilled over 400 professionals since the inception of this programme. We believe that learners will gain in-demand skills to develop, optimize, and transform digital supply chains so that their organization has a unique competitive advantage”.

According to the institute, this course is also suited for those who are seeking to change their careers to supply chain management and learn industry best practices. After completing the course, the participants will be awarded a certificate from IIM Calcutta.
IIM Calcutta Courses 2022: Eligibility
- Graduates (10+2+3 or equivalent)/Diploma holders (10+2+3 equivalent)/Postgraduates in any field with a minimum 50% aggregate.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in logistics and supply chain management as of June 30, 2022.
- Candidates who scored less than 50% during graduation and more than 50% post-graduation are also available.
- Candidates must preferably be working while submitting their applications.

Speaking to a news portal, Mohan Kannegal, the CEO of Emeritus India and APAC, said, “Technological advancements have enhanced the complexity of supply chain operations exponentially.
