31st August was the last date to register for admissions into Delhi University. The registration process ended with as many as 5.63 lakh aspirants who have successfully applied for admissions into DU. This is the highest number the University has seen in the last three years, for admissions into undergraduate (UG) courses. The number of students who applied online for the postgraduate (PG) courses is 1,83,674 and a total of 34,306 students applied for M.Phil and Ph.D., as the data shows on the portal of the varsity.

Under the sports quota, football is the field that received the maximum number of applications, i.e., 1627, followed by athletics and basketball with 1621 and 1420 applications respectively. This year, owing to the pandemic, admissions in these fields will be based on the certificates. Likewise, admissions under twelve categories will be based on certificates. Under the extra-curricular activities quota, NCC received the maximum number of applications, i.e., 3876. This is followed by NSS and Debate in 1796 and 1282 respectively.
Under the Person with Disability category (PwD), 496 applications came from students who suffered from locomotor disability, 452 from blindness and 281 from low vision. The application process has ended and the cut-offs are likely to be released by the middle of September.
