TDSAT Internship Programme For Law Students, Apply Now!

The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) adjudicates disputes and disposes of appeals for the telecom sector in India. The Tribunal has released an internship opportunity notification calling on all interested law students to apply for the programme and gain insight into its day-to-day operations.

The TDSAT was created to promote the growth of and order in the telecommunications industry in India. Its jurisdiction spans the telecom, broadcasting, airport tariff, and IT sectors. Being an intern at the TDSAT is a good opportunity for exposure to these sectors and understanding the nitty-gritty of how the Tribunal functions. Listed ahead are the details about the internship, eligibility, application process, and more.

About The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT)

The Tribunal was established in 2000 by amending the TRAI Act 1997. The purpose behind its formulation was to strengthen the regulatory framework in the telecom sector, by creating a separate entity to deal with regulation and dispute management aspects. Separating the Tribunal from TRAI was also a way to protect the interests of the consumers and the service providers in the telecom industry. For example, those who want to challenge any decision/ order by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) can do so by appealing to the Tribunal.
