ONGC Recruitment 2023 (MRPL): 44 Vacancies Offering Salary Up To INR 86k

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), a subsidiary of ONGC, has announced 44 vacancies for engineers (diploma holders in electrical, civil, and mechanical engineering) and science graduates (B.Sc in Chemistry). Per the ONGC Recruitment 2023 (MRPL) notification, the last date to apply is June 16, 2023. 

MRPL is a ‘Miniratna’ under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. Located in the beautiful hilly terrain in Karnataka, MRPL is the only refiner in India to have two hydrocrackers producing premium diesel

2 years of post-qualification industrial work experience as an Electrical Technician in the Power Plant Industry or any of the process industries such as Petroleum Refinery/ Fertilizer/ Petrochemicals/ Oil and Gas Processing/ Cement/ Iron & Steel.

Three years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% aggregate marks 

2 years of post-qualification industrial work experience as a Mechanical Technician in a Hydrocarbon-based process Industry Petroleum Refinery, Fertilizer, Petrochemicals, Oil and Gas Processing, or Power Plant Industry.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry with Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/ Industrial Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry as the principal subject with minimum 60% aggregate marks

2 years of post-qualification work experience in any Petroleum Refinery or Petrochemicals complex or Power or Fertilizers or Oil and Gas.

    • PwBD category: 10 years
    • Qualification: For SC/ST/PwBD category: 50% aggregate marks

  • Experience as Trainee/Apprentice will not be considered relevant post-qualification work experience. 
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Oil and Gas Sector/ Petrochemicals Sector.

ONGC Recruitment 2023 (MRPL): Selection Process

The selection process comprises a Written Test, followed by a Skill Test (if required by MRPL), Physical Test (if required by MRPL), and Document Scrutiny. 

Details of Written Test:

  • Duration -120 Minutes
  • Marks - 120 Marks
  • Question type - 120 Multiple Choice Questions
  • Sections: 2 sections, as listed below
    • General Awareness - 40 marks (consisting of 40 objective questions)
    • Discipline/Subject of 80 marks (consisting of 80 objective questions)  
  • All questions carry 1 mark each. There will be no negative marking.  
  • The Question Papers for Written Test will be Bilingual i.e. in English & Hindi. 
  • Passing marks:
    • For UR/ EWS/OBC - 60%.  
    • For SC/ST/PwBD - 50%.

Only candidates successful in the written test, skill test (if required by MRPL), and physical test (if required by MRPL) will be considered for document scrutiny 

ONGC Recruitment 2023 (MRPL): Salary

ONGC Recruitment 2023 (MRPL) notification, selected candidates will receive remuneration in the pay scale of INR 25,000 - INR 86,400. Selected candidates will also be placed on probation for one year. 

Candidates will be eligible for other allowances applicable to them as per the rules of the Company.

ONGC Recruitment 2023 (MRPL): Application Process

Here’s the application process for the vacancies listed under the ONGC Recruitment 2023 (MRPL) notification:

  • Candidates have to register on the online portal and then fill out the application form.
  • The application fee for the General, OBC (including non-creamy layer), and EWS category is INR 118, inclusive of GST while applying online. 
  • SC / ST/ PwBD candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. 
  • After filling out the application form, candidates have to print out the form. 
  • Candidates need to physically mail the form, along with self-attested copies of the required documents, through speed post or courier to the following address
