The moment you hit the idea of app development, the first step in getting the wheels turning is to reflect on the trail of thoughts like what pages should be needed? What information should customers find on the home screen? What should the users expect? How should the anticipated app flow? So on and so forth. Exciting, isn’t it? and what is even more exciting is getting a platform to showcase creativity and innovation without any limits, without any boundaries. This is what the participants of Hero CoLabs - Global App Challenge got! 

An initiative by Hero MotoCorp to collaborate and co-create with creative minds around the world, the second edition of Hero CoLabs set the hearts of the participants racing with its exciting challenge of re-designing the current “Hero Customer Application”.

Map the app out!

The task of the Hero CoLabs, Global App Challenge was to redesign a more user-friendly application with a new UI/ UX design that has new/ more features aimed at increasing customer engagement. 

Divided into two rounds, the competition kickstarted with the submissions of a new UX/UI theme of the Hero Customer App along with 3 application screens in a PowerPoint presentation along with a 3-minute video explaining the same within roughly 18-20 days. This edition was open to everyone, irrespective of location, stream of study, college, or profession.

Through ingenuity, creative thinking, and innovative work, these 46 participants impressed the Jury:

The shortlisted participants then submitted the complete wireframe of the application with all the functionalities in a PowerPoint presentation and a 5 min video explaining the same. After a thorough evaluation of all submissions by the HMCL jury, the top 3 entries and a special mention were announced through social media and mail.

After shaping their ideas into a world-beating combination, three creative minds registered their names into the winners tally along with a special mention. The top 4 of Hero CoLabs, Global App Challenge are:

As previously declared by the company, the top 3 entries were rewarded with Xtreme 160R (India)/New Hero 160 Bike (Bangladesh). The special mention bagged the cash price of INR 10000 (India)/BDT 11,500 (Bangladesh). This journey of creating and collaborating, not only honored the participants with rewards and accolades but also gave them a chance to cash in on the opportunity to get the design seen by the entire country, connect with the community, and granted them access to industry experts.
