Young Interns Program 2023: Rajasthan Govt. Invites Applications For 250 Interns

The government of Rajasthan is inviting applications for an internship under its Young Interns Program. The Young Interns Program (YIP) has been running for over a decade. During its FY 2023- 24 budget announcement, Rajasthan Government announced that 250 interns from all streams (graduates and postgraduates) will be selected for the Young Interns Program 2023.

Please note: the last date to apply for the internship is June 05, 2023.

YIP is an internship program that aims to leverage the skill set of talented youth by employing them to work for various State Government departments or agencies. The program offers an opportunity to get a ring-side seat within the government and work on regulations and public service.

For the Young Interns Program 2023, the Government of Rajasthan specified the following eligibility criteria

A qualification in either Engineering/ Medical/Law/CA/CS Streams or a Postgraduate qualification.

Min marks in any stream should be 60%

Excellent communication/presentation/intra–personal skills/ soft skills.

Good Knowledge of English as well as Hindi language (Reading, Speaking, Writing, and Understanding)

Well-versed in ICT skills and knowledge of MS Office and other similar programs on alternative platforms.

Note: Applicants must have their own laptop and data card/internet facility.

Young Interns Program 2023: Selection Process

The applications of eligible candidates will be scrutinized and candidates will be shortlisted by a group discussion and personal interview (Any one or both) by a board of three members (one chairman and two members).

As per the YIP 2023 notifications, interns will be allotted to the districts/divisional offices of their choice and mentored by the District Collector for district and the Divisional Commissioner for divisional HQ. These mentors will perform timely reviews of the interns’ progress.

Young Interns Program 2023: Salary & Duration

Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of INR 30k. Additionally, interns will receive a monthly payment of INR 2,500 for laptop connectivity and data card/internet facility.

Interns are eligible for a leave per month, or 12 leaves in a year.

Selected candidates will be appointed for a duration of at least one year. At the recommendation of the District Collector/Divisional Officer, the internship may be extended to one year, six months at a time. The maximum duration of the internship is two years.

At the end of the internship, interns have to submit a report to the nodal officer/ supervisor which shall be evaluated for quality and utility by the supervisor. On the basis of these reports, interns will receive a certificate of internship.

Young Interns Program 2023: Application Process

Candidates can apply through the SSO (Single Sign On) Portal. Please follow this path for registration: SSO Portal>SSO login>Citizen Apps (G2C) > Young Interns Program.
The online application opened on May 22, 2023, and the last date to apply is June 05, 2023.
At the time of filling out the application form, candidates need to submit a brief "intent write-up" (not less than 300 words in Hindi or English). Here, candidates need to highlight the issue or sector they’d like to work on during the internship.
Shortlisted candidates need to share the physical copies of the required documents (proof of age, educational qualification, etc.) at the time of the GD and Interview.
