The UCEED result 2021 has been declared by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, the organizing institute, on their official website. The exam was conducted on 17th January 2021 by IIT Bombay and is a gateway for admission to BDes programmes at 4 IITs.
Steps to check UCEED result 2021
Candidates can follow the given steps to check their UCEED result 2021:
- Candidates will first have to log on to the official website
- Then under the “announcements” section, click on the “candidate portal link”
- Click on login
- A new screen will open, in the provided fields, candidates will have to enter the required details
- The UCEED result 2021 will be displayed on the screen.
Candidates are advised to download their scorecards for future reference.
About UCEED
Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) is used for admissions to the Bachelor of Design (BDes) programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur.
UCEED 2021 details
Some important details of the UCEED 2021 exam are as follows:
- The total duration of the examination was 3 hours.
- The question paper contained two parts – Part A and Part B. The duration of Part A was 2 hours and 30 minutes. Part B began after Part A ended.
- Part A was divided into three sections, 1, 2 and 3. All sections were compulsory.
- Questions in each section were of different types. There were a total of 68 questions carrying a total of 240 marks.
What to do after the UCEED result 2021?
All shortlisted candidates will get a common merit rank (All India Rank) and are considered as qualified candidates in UCEED 2021. The rank list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks (Part-A marks and Part-B marks combined) in UCEED 2021.
If the total marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, then the following tie-break policy will be used for awarding ranks:
- The higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part-B.
- Higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part-A’s Section 2.
- If this does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part-A’s Section 1.
- If there is a tie even after this, the candidates will be assigned the same rank.
What is the eligibility criteria to apply for BDes?
Candidates who wish to apply for admission to the BDes programmes of the 4 participating IITs: IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur are required to fulfil the following three criteria of eligibility:
- Age limit: The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1996, if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and, on or after October 1, 1991, if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.
- UCEED qualification: The candidate should have qualified, i.e., obtained a rank, in UCEED 2021.
- Qualifying examination: The candidate should have passed all subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2020 or 2021. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2019 or earlier are NOT eligible.
