Following the news of collaboration between IIT Madras and Power Grid Corporation of India to provide scholarships to students from the EWS category, another good news for EWS students is on the cards. This time, it's from IIM Jammu, as it announced 20 scholarships of INR 1.5 Lakhs each for meritorious students from the EWS category.
The idea behind the scholarship is to provide a cross-cultural exposure and a global perspective to the students. Students will receive this scholarship under the International Student Exchange Programme (SEP) and it will enable them to participate in international academic events and different student exchange programmes abroad.
Announcing the new initiative, Prof BS Sahay, the director of IIM Jammu said, "As an institute of national importance, we seek to equip our students with a globally inclusive management education covering all aspects of the management institutions of the future."
Sources inside the institute claim that the Student Exchange Programme (SEP) is becoming increasingly popular among the students at IIM Jammu.
"We have always believed in providing all possible support and assistance to our meritorious students wherein the financial assistance offered by the institute is a bold step toward facilitating our students as part of an international student exchange programme," Prof Sahay added.
Ever since its inception, students from IIM Jammu have been actively participating in the international exchange program. In 2022, the institute announced the induction of five new academic partners for both students and faculty exchange. Following the new additions, the total number of international academic partners has gone up from 15 to 20.

Sources inside the institute further claimed that 11 students from the 2020-22 MBA batch got the opportunity to study at partner institutions for one term. It was the 5th MBA batch from IIM Jammu, and in such a short time, students from this batch got the opportunity to explore institutes of great repute internationally.
