1. Through Website: Job vacancies at PayPal are listed on their website from time to time. One can search for the desired role and apply for the same by filling out the online application form and submitting a resume.

2. Hiring challenges: To provide the quickest hiring process, PayPal also conducts hiring challenges for engineering students offering paid internships and full-time job positions to the top performers. To be eligible for PayPal's hiring challenge, one must be a final year engineering student (from any stream) with a CGPA equivalent of 8 and above. One can keep a track of such events from PayPal's official website, social media handles, and other platforms. The pattern of the PayPal recruitment process keeps changing. For any hiring season, PayPal conducts  hiring procedures with the following common stages:

  1. Online Assessment Test
  2. Technical Interview Rounds
  3. HR Interview Rounds

The details of these rounds are as follows: 

1. Online Assessment Test: This round includes the following written tests:

  • Aptitude: The candidate has to solve 20-30 questions in half an hour time frame. The questions may include logical reasoning and verbal-aptitude problems as well.  
  • Technical MCQs: Questions related to operating systems, FIFO, algorithms, scheduling, linked-list, hashing, tree-based models, binary trees, etc. Questions from DBMS are rarely asked in the written round. 
  • Coding: This generally has 2 questions to be solved in 120 minutes time frame. The questions deal with any one commonly used programming language and have questions related to dynamic programming, competitive programming, etc. 

2. Technical Interview: 1-2 rounds of interviews may be conducted that deal with technical interview questions. As part of the tech interview prep, one must practice writing codes on paper as candidates may be asked to write codes during the interview. 

3. HR Round: This round may involve an in-depth conversation with the interviewer and includes questions dealing with real-life situations, managerial - cultural fit questions, and basic questions that help to understand the personality of the interviewee. One must be ready to face direct questions from one's resume as well. For example, if you have added neural networks or machine learning to your resume, the interviewer may ask questions to assess your machine learning skills or your knowledge of the neural networks. Hence, this round can be a mix of HR and substantial questions from computer science. The time duration of the interview process is not defined. However, the total number of interview days may range from 1-to 3 days.  

4. Final review: Once the entire process is done, the hiring committee reviews the performance of the candidates and the shortlisted ones are sent out the offer letters. 

5. Onboarding: PayPal has 1-year onboarding journey to facilitate a smooth integration of the new recruit and build his/her understanding of PayPal’s organizational structure, values, strategy, products, business, etc.

  • Read up well about the company. 
  • Go through the job description of the job role to understand what the Firm expects from you.
  • Keep some questions ready for the interviewer. 
  • If your interview is online, make sure your system and internet connection is working well to have a smooth process of interview and avoid waste of time. Bad internet or system error makes your interview a terrible experience. 
  • Dress professionally for both on-site and virtual interviews. 

During the interview:

  • Highlight your skills.
  • Be specific and give a detail while answering the questions while maintaining a pleasing smile and good eye contact. 
  • Be straightforward. If you don't know about a certain thing, spell it out clearly. This will help you have an honest interview experience. 

After the interview:

  • Thank your interviewers through a formal email. You may also ask for feedback from the original assessment. 
  • The hiring process at PayPal is not the slowest hiring process, but it may take some time. Hence patience is the key to sailing through the waiting period.
