In order to participate in the OYO recruitment process, the candidate must: 

  • Have scored 70% or above in B.Tech, Class 10th and 12th.
  • Have no backlogs at the time of the selection process. 

Since OYO is one of the hot favorites of job seekers, the company receives a number of applications from eligible candidates for various profiles. However, the entire hiring process takes not more than a month to wind up.

OYO Rooms is known to have a meticulous process for selecting desirable candidates. Largely, the OYO recruitment process has three sections:

  • Online Test
  • Interview Rounds
  • Debrief Process

While the online round is carefully designed to shortlist the brightest candidates, the multiple face-to-face interview rounds help to further assess them. Following are the details of the various stages. 

1. Online Test

OYO boasts of a scientific and data-driven hiring process to select the best candidates. The test includes coding questions (2 to 3) and MCQs based on technical topics such as OOPS, DS/Algo, DBMS, etc. The candidates shortlisted on the basis of this test, move to the subsequent interview rounds.  

2. Face-to-Face Interviews

The qualified candidates are called for the interview round. OYO recruitment process has multiple face-to-face interviews that include technical and behavioral questions-based rounds. Every round is about an hour long and is intended to assess the various skills and abilities of the candidates.  The questions asked during these rounds revolve around Coding, Algorithms, Problem-Solving, Data Structures, and Computer Science fundamentals. The HR interview may include behavioral or situation-based questions, discussion on past internship experience, projects done during college, etc. 

Note:  In each interview round, the interviewer rates the candidate from 1 to 5 for every competency being tested in that particular round. The responses are thoroughly documented.  Usually, 3 to 4 interview rounds are conducted in the OYO recruitment process. However, based on various factors, the number may be reduced to two. 

3. Debrief Process

Once the interviews are done, the selection procedure heads to the most crucial stage- the debrief process. In this stage, the interviewers assess the candidates based on the overall ratings. Each candidate is calibrated against OYO's existing candidate pool. The final decision is taken based on the ratings of the candidates. This removes any kind of bias from the selection process, making it transparent.

Tips for nailing the technical and HR interviews

  • First things first, brush up on your fundamentals. The technical interviews basically test your basic knowledge and you have to exhibit the same in the simplest and most precise way. 
  • Understand the interview format. Before your interview day, try to gather as much information as possible about the type of questions that are asked, important topics, etc. Sometimes the interviewer may ask you to write codes on paper which are different than coding on a screen. 
  • You can make interviews as a platform to demonstrate your passion.
